Passion fuels your desire for life

The other night right before I went to sleep, I had this thought "passion fuels your desire for life" and I had to write it in my notes app. I'm sure someone has said this before, it's not a profound statement however, I find it to be so shockingly true. If I think back through the years of my life, I can compare the moments where I had passion and where I didn't; more often than not, I found that when I was passionate about something, my desire for life was much greater. I think it is very important to note that these passions don't need to be huge accomplishments or even amount to anything; it's the art of creating that gives the gratification. So when I worry about not accomplishing enough with my life, I have to realize that it's not about the accomplishments it's very much about doing what makes me feel the spark of passion. It can be small hobbies, like this blog, or even big life choices like becoming a research scientist.

I don't really think life has purpose. I think we give things meaning and in turn purpose. Our life is supposed to be made up of these things we think deserve meaning; theoretically I guess. Unfortunately, we do need to make money and survive in life which leads to decisions that have no meaning or passion and that creates this feeling of nothingness. However, if you have hobbies and build community and give things meaning then that spark for life will come back. I mean theoretically. It scares me how serious adulthood seems to be, I just don't understand how people can become so empty; they work and go home and do it all again everyday. Especially when they have a job that is just a job, it's like they are just a shell of a person living for money and vacations. I just hope I can keep my passions for life as I get older and I hope I can enjoy money and vacations but as someone who has a desire for life.lol
